What is yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra or ‘Yogic sleep’, is a relaxation technique that has been proven to deeply and holistically restore a persons neuro- networking system. Anyone can practice Yoga Nidra no matter their age, physical ability or health condition. In the session, participants have the opportunity to explore their sensory perceptions and imagination, as well as what their deeper needs are in order to heal or thrive. The practice involves laying down in a comfortable position, ideally covered with a pillow and blanket for warmth and comfort. You will be guided into breath awareness and body scanning exercises that have profound healing effects on the nervous system. There is no other yoga practice more relaxing than Yoga Nidra. It has also been clinically proven to alleviate stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, and PTSD.
* One 45 minute session of Yoga Nidra is said to be equivalent to 3 hrs of restful sleep. If you are experiencing insomnia, anxiety or sleep deprivation this practice could be your solution.
Yoga Nidra's healing effects are cumulative. It is recommended that you practice as regular as you can.
